TOM RIBBECKE GUITAR PLAYER .... LUTHIER .....?
Tom has been playing guitar and carrying on with guitars most of his life. Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, he emigrated to San Francisco with his cousin, the infamous "Johnny Surreal"of Punk Fame, when they were just 18... Since the days of his "Bruno Conqueror" 335 copy he has played in many great bands and situations and recording gigs while building a reputation as one of the world's foremost makers of archtop and Halfling guitars, as well as all other types. From his small shop on Guerrero St in San Francisco many years ago, to his small shops in Healdsburg and Windsor, many guitars have been sent into the world! Always a musician as well as a maker , Tom played with ROUGH STONE DRAFT, HARLOW, SCOUNDREL, THE RODD BROS, STEVE McKENZIE, THE MAGNIFICENT MR.PETER INNES, TERRY "EL AGUA HOMBRE" WATERMAN, CHIP CLOFINE, SHANE SOLDINGER'S HIGHWAY ROBBERS, and shared the stage with J.J.CALE, DONOVAN, RAIN PARADE, BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD REVISITED, CACTUS, BILLY DEAN, AND SO MANY MORE!
"For me its all about what I call grabbing the dragon's tail. That's when your eyes are closed, the groove is great and you are seeing pure white light, everyone is hanging on the end of your guitar, and there is nothing but music flowing. It is my pleasure to play with THE BENCH DOGGS, an amazing group of multi-talented artists, and great friends. This band is just finding its groove and getting hot! Hang on, come out and see us! We are going to have some fun!"
We would love to come and play for you and are available in smaller and more acoustic ensemble for smaller events! Meanwhile we are working on new and original material in the top secret BD headquarters!
In the workshop!
